Itinerary: Trasnsport to the village square of Terrades, approx. 45min - Coll de la Salut – spectacular chapel Santa Magdalena - Can Serradell - St. Llorenç de la Muga - parking - Aquarius
Surroundings: At first an old path leads us through forests of cork oaks, ferns, grasses and shrubs blossomed according to the season. In the last part of the ascent we expect an alpine and rocky terrain before reaching a chapel located on the summit with sensational views over the plains of the Empordà, the Bay of Roses, the Boadella dam and the high mountains of the Pyrenees in the background.
Remarkable: The Sta. Magdalena Hermitage located on the northeast slope of the mountain that flanks the Boadella reservoir. Small courtyard reachable through stone arches. Magnificent panoramic 360º views over the dam and the mountains. Medieval bridge in front of the village of San Llorenç, where we see one of the most beautiful squares of the Empordà. Swim and splash on the Muga River.
Don`t forget: swimsuit, flip flops, sun protection, sufficient drinks (water, isotonic drinks), energy food, comfortable clothing, spare clothing (when sweating or freezing), rainwear if needed and BEING IN A GOOD MOOD ;-)
