Itinerary: Aquarius - Viladamat - La Tallada - Verges - Jafre – crossing the Ter over the dam at Colomers - Foixa - Ultramort - Serra de Daro Gualta - Torroella de Montgri - Ullá - Bellcaire - La Escala – Aquarius
Surroundings: We start by crossing the Alt Empordà plain, which is characterized by fruit plantations and other agriculture. At the foot of the hills of the Sant Grau mountain, we head south through the pretty village of Tallada until we reach Verges, with its majestic village square with an open-air café. Following the river Ter along a cycle path, we reach the turning point of the route: the crossing of the river by the dam at Colomers. From here, downstream, through the pine and alluvial forests, a slope leads to Foixà, where the route continues on the asphalt and goes down to the back of the Ter delta. Before crossing the river again at Torroella, we flank some medieval villages that are worth exploring. Mainly flat trails, which border the Montgrí massif with its imposing castle, finally lead us to L'Escala and back to the Aquarius.
Remarkable: Crossing of the Rio Ter via the dam wall. Pine forests, olive groves and river landscapes.
Don`t forget: sun protection, sufficient drinks (water, isotonic drinks), energy food, comfortable clothing, spare clothing (when sweating or freezing), rainwear if needed and BEING IN A GOOD MOOD ;-)
